Better late than never, here’s your Workout Wednesday video. My editing skills are not the best so this one took a little longer than usual to release. Despite my technological downfalls, I wanted to deliver something a little bit different this week. I’ve talked before about overall fitness, and how it cannot be achieved by doing Pilates alone. I love really moving the body around, and getting back to my roots as a personal trainer. So this is a HIIT workout (high intensity interval training) with specific moves to help improve your cardiovascular, lower body, and core strength. This workout is perfect if you plan to HIIT the slopes this winter! (I couldn’t resist). Jackie Sakaguchi is a friend of mine who is a bad ass competitive snowboarder, and one of the few chics in the game who is fearless on the slopes. Not to mention Jackie happens to be one of the fittest girls I know. So watch as I take her through these exercises!
1. Warm up-Get down, get ups 10x
2. Split squats with back foot on the BOSU 10x/each leg
3. Jump squats, jumping onto BOSU 20x
3. Side squat jumps with one foot on BOSU 20x/each leg
4. Jump switch side squats 20x
5. Plank with feet on BOSU 60 sec or more
Cool down by stretching.
