So I’m currently up late packing for a four day camping trip in the wilderness. I will be attending Shambhala Music Festival in the small town of Salmo, British Columbia. Now for those who know me, you already know that this is not necessarily my normal scene. But who could pass up getting back to nature, tranquility, and the challenge of being completely out of my element!
I think it is so important in life to throw yourself into situations that scare you, and overcome your own fears. I’m not saying to go bungee jumping, or sky diving, but so often even the slightest anxieties or fears can make us pass up amazing opportunities. Think about something you’ve been putting off because of fear, whether it’s attending your first yoga/Pilates class, talking to someone, learning to speak another language, whatever, and just give it a try. What’s the worst thing that could happen?
That being said, I have been avoiding camping trips for quite a few years due to the fear of pitching a tent, peeing in the woods, bugs, and rain. I’m staying positive though, and I hope to meet lots of interesting people, do lots of yoga, and hike the stunning mountains of BC. So I may be offline over the next few days, but I promise to return with lots of stories, and pictures of my adventures. Wish me luck!
