Last week I was one lucky lady. I got to teach a Pilates class of entirely men! It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it…
These hunky dudes came by Body Harmonics for some testosterone fueled Pilates, followed by beer, pizza, and lots of good times. Together with Lululemon we invited the guys to experience what Pilates is all about, and to get past that stigma that Pilates is only for women. I’ve noticed that it’s often tough to get men in the door, but once they try Pilates they’re hooked. Some of my most loyal clients are men!
I had such a great time teaching to all men, it’s a really different vibe. Men often need work on flexibility, especially in the shoulders, hamstrings, and t-spine areas (mid back). Am I right fellas? The benefit of teaching an all mens class is that we can really focus on these areas. The results…a better golf swing, longer strides at hockey practice, and a stronger core, and the list goes on.
We worked really hard, sweat a little, and even had a friendly competition to see who could balance on the foam roller the longest. I was so impressed with these guys! I would gladly teach a mens class again.
