In lieu of kids going back to school, don’t forget that even big kids like yourself should never stop learning. In regards to fitness I’ve learned something very important this week. The battle was not won in a day.
Last week I pushed like crazy in my workouts, and taught over 18 classes and clients, leaving my body aching and my energy low. I was trying to make up for missed workouts, and slip-ups in my healthy diet. When I was forced to finally slow down it all became clear, I thought, one workout is not going to make me skinnier, fitter, or heal an injury on the spot. It’s a whole slew of workouts, movements, and hard work. The process spans a lifetime.
Some may find this discouraging, but it instantly helped me to compartmentalize and feel less overwhelmed. Think of each workout, each movement as a building block towards your fitness goals. This “ah ha” moment brought to you by my stiff back, and a strong muscle relaxant.
