Your Dad pulls his old football jersey out of his closet, and squeezes it on over his ever widening waistline. Despite the jersey being too tight for comfort, it does not stop him from reliving the touchdown that concluded his varsity career. As the memory fades your Dad glances down and is snapped back to reality by his bulging belly, and the next day signs up for the closest gym.
It’s not an uncommon story. Humans are reflective creatures, and enjoy revisiting a time when we were younger, fearless, and responsibility-free. After heading up to a cottage for some much needed TLC with the girls weekend, we got on the topic of great music from our younger years. Shamelessly we listened to all of our favorite girl bands, and pop music. After our nostalgia session I was feeling very motivated, I had that youthful drive, I thought about how far I’d come from my teenage self, and was ready to work hard. So here it is, whether you’re on the way to the gym, your job, or a blind date, motivate yourself with a walk down memory lane. Not to mention these ladies are great motivation in general, check out those abs!
