In Pilates we focus most of our attention on the core, but if you want a toned lean look you’ve got to do more than the hundred, and ab curls. The zip-up is an effective, all-in-one upper body exercise in Pilates to tone your arms and strengthen the muscles around the shoulder joint.
1. Start with your heels together, toes apart with your hands dangling in front of your body with the palms facing toward you.

2. On an exhale begin to zip the hands up the body, pulling the elbows up toward the ceiling. At the same time press up onto your toes into a calf raise if you want some added work through the legs. Do 15-20 reps.
3. To make this exercise more challenging you can add extra resistance by carrying small weights, toning balls, or even cans of soup!
