A week or so ago I had a few ladies over for a wine and cheese night. My friends are the type of people who are serious foodies, we all like to cook, and eat interesting foods with different flavors. As much as they appreciate good food they are all pretty health conscious in at the same time. So many people these days are more in tune with food intolerances or sensitivities, and choose to stay away from certain foods. Considering two of my girlfriends don’t eat dairy, and myself and another girl don’t eat gluten, I was starting to kick myself for suggesting a wine and cheese. Instead I thought I’d get really creative, and the result was so worth it!
If you find yourself having to cook for vegetarians, vegans, or people with allergies, watch and learn so that you too will have ALL of your guests digging in at your next dinner party.
Rosemary lentil chips were crunchy, and savory, so yummy! Mary’s rice and grain crackers are a staple in my house.
Easy white bean dip, beans, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, throw it in a blender and top with paprika. Delicious.
Vegan “Cheese” Ball Recipe

2 tablespoons organic or low sugar ketchup.
2 heaping tablespoons The Heat Is On spicy peanut butter from The Peanut Butter & Co.
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce.

Couple dashes of tabasco.
Mix and form into a ball, shaping with your hands.
This stuff is so spicy! It made everything deliciously creamy. I love The Peanut Butter & Co!
Daiya Cheese alternative, dairy, lactose, gluten, and soy free. Covers all the bases.
Daiya may have less protein than real cheese but has way less saturated fats and sodium. Not a bad alternative.
Everything in the bowl. Look at all those colors, so pretty!
Mix it all around….
Voila! This recipe was adapted from my mother-in-law’s coveted cheese ball recipe. Although mine will never hold a candle to hers, I think it’s still pretty tasty!
