This weekend I had the most lovely, cozy weekend in the city. It consisted of drinking egg nog lattes, ice skating, and wandering into local gift shops, things mostly facilitated by the enormous snowfall we got here in Toronto. It was pretty perfect, the snow forced me to slow down and just enjoy all that winter has to offer.
On Saturday I laced up my skates with a friend, and took a few laps around the freshly plowed ice at the Harbourfront rink. The cold was no match for us, we were having too much fun. There was a live DJ, and most importantly a bar indoors where they served hot cocoa and hard liquor. The Harbourfront skate happens every Saturday throughout the winter, featuring some of the best DJs in the city, I highly suggest you check it out!
On Sunday, I attempted to finish off my Christmas shopping. I headed down to Queen West to find the most unique gift selection. I happily wondered into Valhalla gift shop, where it looks like Christmas vomited all over the place. In a good way, I might add! There are gift tags, festive napkins, gag gifts, and some of the most unique cards you’ve ever seen. Most designs are made by local artists, like the popular Mayor Rob Ford Christmas card. Delightful, as you might imagine. I nabbed these cute greeting cards by Wendy Tancock. If you have any last minute stocking stuffers, or tree trimmers, Valhalla is the place to go!
