I’m really loving this cold-pressed juice movement, and it seems new boutique juice shops are popping up everywhere in this city. I have been on an absolute chia seed kick lately, so when I came across the Chia Seed Hydrator at Greenhouse Juice Co. I had to try it. Chia is one of nature’s highest plant-based sources of complete protein, it’s rich in Omegas, high in fiber, aids in digestion, and can help to regulate blood sugar. The chia seed is a tiny seed that packs a big punch! [Source]
While I love the luxury of sipping nutrient-filled beverages in adorable little juice shops around town, it can be seriously pricey to feed that habit. Here’s an at home fix that will keep your gut and your pocket book happy!
Chia Seed Hydrator
- 2 tsp chia seeds (I prefer ground chia, they’re less slimy and easier to swallow)
- 500ml distilled water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp pure maple syrup (optional)
Step 1: Add water to clean glass bottle, then add all other ingredients to water. Shake well and store in the fridge for a few hours or over night.
This is a great drink mid morning or late afternoon as a pick-me-up, or before a workout for a quick boost!
What do you think of chia seeds, too slimy or a must in your daily diet?
